21 September 2016
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing commitment to our school community and the events we celebrate throughout the year.
Through this all there have been parents, volunteers, teachers, staff and peers who, without their support, none of these things would be as successful as they are. Volunteers play such an important role within our community and without them we would be less than we are. Our thanks to you all.
Our canteen provides a vital service to our school community and I enjoy the benefits we gain by having our canteen up and running. Unfortunately we are having a great deal of difficulty finding able bodies who are willing to work in the canteen. This is not an arduous or difficult task, procedures are clearly posted and help is available. Please, put your name down for next term so that we all can benefit from our canteen and not have to reduce the times that it is open.
I would like to especially thank one of our unflagging volunteers who has finally decided it’s time to say goodbye. This amazing lady has worked with a variety of teachers over the years and has shared her amazing artistic abilities with staff and children across the school. We will miss you and we wish you joy!
Next term our children will return to school in their summer uniforms. Please take some time to go through the lost property box as Friday is the day that uncollected clothing will go to the Uniform shop for resale and lunchboxes and accessories will be binned.
Enjoy your holidays, be safe, be careful and enjoy your family time.
Changes to the Term 4 Calendar
12 Oct Whole School Mass 2B
19 Oct 2G attend Mass
Please contact Pip Kent on 0439 091300 if you can help out.
It is imperative that once you place your online order, you check your “active orders" section to ensure that your order has been captured correctly. We are having increasing numbers of children coming to canteen without orders being placed. This is causing distress for the children.
Sports Carnival Subway Meal Deal will be coming to the canteen at the beginning of Term 4. See attached flyer.
Unfortunately Subway have advised that they are unable to provide a gluten free option.
Canteen will be closed for regular orders on Friday 21st October.
Due to the end of term, certain items will be unavailable from canteen, however all orders will be replaced with items of similar value or money returned.
This week's assembly will be presented by students in 3G. Parents of 3G children are invited to the staff room after the assembly for a cuppa with Mrs Stephanie Schenk. Congratulations to the students who received Merit Awards at last week's assembly.

Our dear Granny is finishing her volunteer work at OLG at the end of this term. Granny has been a valued member of the OLG community for many years. Her daughter attended OLG and her grand daughter graduated last year.
Granny has assisted in Pre Kindy for over three years and help out in numerous other classrooms. Granny has shared her artistic talent throughout the whole school and parish. Her beautiful paintings and murals will be treasured and a reminder of her passion and generosity.
We thank Granny for all her help, support, creativity and friendship and we wish her every happiness.
Currently there is a lot of wastage at OLG. Click on the link to find out what we intend to do about it.
Some current and past OLG students are lucky enough to be part of a local musical production that will be showing at Carine Senior High School in a couple of weeks. Dorothy Gaunt who runs the OLG school dancing program is also involved in this production. Come and support your local talent with your family and friends. We are looking forward to entertaining you!

St Vincent De Paul North Perth conference wool donations:
Do you have any spare wool lying around or are you able to make a donation of wool to help the St Vincent De Paul ladies knitting group? These amazing ladies donate their time working tirelessly to make essential woolen items such as scarves, beanies, children't clothes etc to help those in need in our community. These items are sometimes sold and all profits directly benefit the St Vincent De Paul charity.
Message from Fr Patrick
I have this saying as a poster to a couple I recently married in May. They put it up in their kitchen to see often. I ponder on this saying often. We have now come full circle for again I am writing about marrisage as I did last term. Have a wonderful holiday filled with happiness.
May we all love God and each other together here in our Our Lady of Grace community.

***Attention Attention*** School APP is almost here - Release date soon to be announced.
Over the last few weeks the school APP has been trialled with great success and positive feedback with the notion of now rolling it out to the whole school community within a couple of weeks.
Basically the APP will allow communication on a one-way basis from those areas you wish to receive notifications for. For instance, if you have children in 1B and 5G, then you would select those corresponding boxes to receive notifications for those classes only.
Class reps and teachers will be given access to add items to their applicable class.
When you load up the Calendar, you'll see items that are added against all of the boxes that you have chosen to view. The idea being you should only see items that are relevant to you.
