"Children cannot develop a moral compass unless the people closest to them use the clear, unambiguous language of right and wrong. We should help our children to develop their moral compass by promoting moral activities through our self discipline, our good work habits, our kind and considerate behaviour to others, our community involvement. As parents, we want our children to be responsible for their own character development; our responsibility is to provide the physical and moral environment." Frank Clark."
Changes to Kindy Enrolment Process
A. Kindy interviews in late Term Three and early Term Four of the start year minus two (i.e. Term 3 and Term 4 of 2016 for a 2018 start).
B. Successful applicants will be offered a place in the Pre Kindy program for the following year, when their application for Kindy is confirmed. Acceptance of the Pre K position IS NOT necessary to gain a place in the K-6 program.
C. The Pre Kindy and Kindy processes will thus run simultaneously requiring just the one interview in most cases.
Parents are therefore urged to ensure they have registered their “Kindy class of 2018” children with the office before this term is out. It would also be a good time to approach the parish for a reference rather than leaving it until later.
Please contact Pip Kent on 0439 091300 if you can help out.
While the online ordering email confirmation is being rectified, once you place your order, please check in your “active orders” to ensure that your order has been captured correctly.
This week's assembly will be presented by students in 6B. Parents of 6B children are invited to the staff room after the assembly for a cuppa with Mrs Grace Vagliviello. Congratulations to the students who received merit awards at last term's assembly.
Book Club: Scholastic book club order forms were sent home this week and orders must be returned to the library before 8.30am on Friday 29th July if paying by cash. Orders via the LOOP system will be accepted until Wednesday 3rd August.

The library roster was sent home at the end of last term. Please see Trish if you haven't received it.
The Tournament of Minds (TOM) students will be holding a cake stall in the multi-purpose area on Friday 29th July. As the TOM students are a small group, it would be appreciated if any families could assist by providing a cake for the stall to support their fundraiser.
A reminder to the parents who will be baking for the cake stall that OLG has a Nut Free policy and that all cakes should be labelled with the ingredients listed.

Warriors Cup 2016
It was a very cold start to the day but in stoic fashion, all girls worked really hard & played fantastic netball in many games throughout the day.
Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped make the day run smoothly, without your help, we couldn't do it. Also to our umpire Brooke Benson, a huge thanks for taking the time to umpire the girl’s games. A huge thankyou to all of the players who worked so hard all day, you should be very proud of your effort you put in & tenacious work ethic, very pleased to have you represent your teams, parents & OLGNC. Well done!
