INNOVATORS and SYSTEM LEADERS
In point form this is what the reviewers have said about OLG:
Many of the practices at OLG were considered by the panel to be innovative.
The reviewers tell us that no other school is a system leader in all four of the following domains (two at most)
The existence of high levels of expectation and teacher efficacy – OLG - System Leaders
Ensuring an orderly learning environment where every student is well known – OLG - System Leaders
A focus on what matters most – OLG - System Leaders

• The School Board, at the time, agreed to take on a third stream after twelve months of research, discussion and argument, because we are a Catholic school. Being truly Catholic means we behave in a certain way. It is not just about mass on Sundays and being generous with our money, it is about acting the way Jesus would. At the end of that year of discussions/arguments it came down to that quite basic question, "What would Jesus do?"
• We annually knock back over thirty Catholic families who want a Catholic education for their child. The 'deal breakers' the Board put in place were that there would be no split recesses or lunchtimes; no split assemblies; no split whole-school masses. The advantages they saw were replacing the oldest and most tired of our classrooms with new, up to date learning spaces and being able to open up the school block to create more play space for our children. This latter point is to be achieved by extending our eastern and southern fence lines out to out property boundary, adding over 500 sq m to our play area as well as removing the current Pre Kindy to Art room buildings, thus opening up the entire block.

What a weekend, with a huge storm hitting Perth, most team’s games were cancelled, with the exception of the Year’s 4’s & 5’s in the 9.45am time slot. We wanted to commend all the teams, umpires and parents, that braved the weather at the 9.45am games, it got pretty wild, but the girls played on until WDNA cancelled the games – Great commitment!
It was great to see some teams re-graded appropriately while others remained in the same division. The final re-grade will take place after Round 5. Please have re-grade forms to Kristin Sputore ASAP if you wish to change divisions.
The process for Severe Weather Warnings at WDNA: I would encourage coaches and managers to access the WDNA website and Facebook page for updated information. You will also be notified by a committee member via email at their earliest convenience.
Guess who some of our past and present OLGNC players bumped into at last weekends West Coast Fever game?…Number One ticket holder, our Premier, Colin Barnett! So fantastic to hear that netball is going prime time at Channel 9!
See you on the courts.
