There has been a great number of exciting events of late, such as a sport carnival, incursions, a P and F social event and the walkathon, NAPLAN, the 'start' of the new instrumental program and even school photos. So much happening!
This has not come about from a lack of effort on the school's part, because we are very conscious of the desirability of the continuity and consistency of staff in classrooms. All decisions are made on the basis of, "If my child were a member of that class who would I want teaching them?" and the answer is, "Their regular teacher or at least the relief teacher they always have." Unfortunately, sometimes the fates conspire against us.

Parish and School
Things are different nowadays: priests no longer have that power and schools operate independently of the parish both financially and administratively. There are great positives to some of these changes but also considerable negatives. Catholic schools are an outreach of their parish and the Church and very often they are now the only connection families have with the Church.
This is a sad development, for that melding of school and parish communities was a vibrant and wonderful community to be a part of. I well remember the annual fete held in the church (all the pews were pushed to the sides or used to support the trestle table tops; you could buy lavender bags for use in drawers, there was the chocolate wheel and all sorts of homemade things to spend your money on.
