Dear Parents and Caregivers
For the last two weeks I have been driving around Sicily with two of my daughters, who I must say, make wonderful travelling companions. While my eight year old grand daughter proclaims that her heart lies in Paris, mine has a definite affinity with Italy. The history, the architecture, the incredible decoration in its churches, the coffee, the European breakfasts, the people, the way they drive and park their cars!! - I love it all.
Congratulations to the students who received Merit Awards at last week's assembly.

Jacob Dimond – Year 2 Blue – Drum Student
“Well, I think that drumming is good, I just need to keep practising to get better each day. I get to use up lots of energy when I play the drums. I also just like my drum teacher! She is so good at playing the drums. She has good Aboriginal music, which I like, and she is wonderful at teaching me! She can turn the pages of my book without it closing!”
“Our son Jacob is loving his drum lessons! We thought we would give them ago as it is one of the first activities he has expressed an interest in. Like many little boys he can get restless in class. Drums provides a welcome distraction and helps him settle for the rest of his day. He even practises on pots & pans at home!” Debbie Dimond, Jacob’s mum.
Interview with Owen Buck - Drum Student - Year 4W
The things that I love about drums is that the drums are fun, especially during the day at school!
I like playing solos to my teacher and I am preparing to enter the Catholic Performing Arts Festival this year. I will be playing at Trinity College for that.
It makes me feel happy and special because I have a special talent.
I have been playing the drums for seven years. I started lessons when I was three. My favourite thing to play is called Beats and Fills.
